Joe along with a friend, took a ride of a lifetime this summer on his bike. Here's what he said about the trip:
The bike ride covered 3,840 miles from Portland, OR to Portland, ME. My friend and I left Oregon the first week of June, and finished the trip about 10 weeks later (although, only about 7 weeks of biking). The fully loaded rigs each weighed about 80 lbs. The essentials included a change of clothes, rain gear, food, water, camping gear, whiskey, and a mandolin. As expected, the trip was filled with incredible terrain and some stunning scenery. The real surprise was the unsolicited generosity we were shown by people we met along the way. Often, people would stop us and offer their backyard for free camping, or invite us to join them for a meal. It was refreshing to know that so many people are willing to help out when they can. Slowing down and seeing the country at 12mph was by far the best road trip that I have ever had!
