Ben's Experience with Level 4's Fat Loss Program

Hi Dave,

I wanted to thank you for all your help during my “12 Week Fat Loss Transformation”.  When I first heard about the program, I was ready for a change but not sure where to start.  At about 100 pounds overweight, jumping back into CrossFit seemed daunting.  When I was going to the gym on my own I was lacking direction and motivation.  I loved the idea of committing to a detailed program for a set amount of time.  I was intrigued that the personalized attention I would have with you would allow us to focus on my specific goals and work at the appropriate level and intensity.  Meeting for one hour, three days a week I think was the perfect balance for me.   

I really enjoyed our time together, and your passion for helping me lose weight and live a better life.  I am thrilled with the results as well - 40 pound loss in 12 weeks, and still counting (another 20 in the two months following the end of our first 12 week cycle).  Plus the body composition testing along the way was a super helpful guideline for me to see where we were at and the progress we made.  A few keys to why I think the program was so successful for me:

  1. The workouts were awesome.  I loved how they changed through the course of the program and focused on gaining strength while losing weight.
  2. You made the meal planning and diet plan so easy.  I really loved the focus on what I CAN eat, rather than what I can’t.  After an adjustment period of a week or two, it didn't even feel like being on a diet.  I focus on eating healthy food, and getting in plenty of protein.
  3. I loved that during our 1:1 sessions, we didn’t just focus on working out for the hour.  We discussed nutrition, sleep, and other life style factors that were important during my transformation. I really think this was helpful, and I think unique to your program.
  4. Compliance.  You absolutely laid out a great plan for me to succeed - but I also worked very hard, and was stricter than I have ever been.  I didn’t cheat on a rep in our workouts.  On our off days I went for long recovery walks.  I stuck to the diet and save for a few isolated incidents, didn’t cheat at all.  

I am so happy that I reached out to start this program with you.  It has changed my life, and I look forward to continuing to work together in the coming months and years.
